1. Rational numbers defined: $\Q$ = $\frac{m}{n}$, m,n $\in \Z$
2. $\sqrt{\smash[b]{2}}$ is not a rational number, because there does not exist m,n $\in \Z$(in their simplest form) s.t. $\Q$ = $\frac{m}{n}$.
